Friday 13th June:
11.00am: A Walking tour of Monaghan town accompanied by a tour guide. Approximately 2 hours.
Please take your rain gear as you are in Ireland!!!
2.30pm: Assemble at the Peace Campus for a tour of Monaghan County Museum.
5.30pm: Staying at the Peace Campus , local historian Brian McDoanld will give a talk on “The Irish Wake in Monaghan”. Afterwards a buffet will be served.
Saturday 14th June:
10.30am: DNA/Genealogy talk & workshop led by Connor McKenna.
Tea/coffee & biscuits will be served.
12.30pm: Visit to Donagh Old Graveyard where the ancestors of GeneraL Don Juan McKenna, co-liberator of Chile rest.
FREE TIME
6.00pm: Coach transport will leave town to travel to the Sliabh Beagh Hotel in the countryside for dinner and the inauguration of our incoming chieftain.
En-route places of interest on what is the McKenna Trail will be visited. Events at the hotel are due to commence at 7.30pm with dinner served at 8.00pm. Coach transport will be provided for the return journey to town.
