On 28th October 2010, An Post in Ireland and the Chilean Post Office issued commemorative stamps in honour of General Juan MacKenna and Bernardo O’Higgins simultaneously in Ireland and Chile. This was a unique occasion and the first time ever that stamps were issued simultaneously in two different countries and two different continents.
